Your Alaska Cruise Tour
Adventure beyond the sea

An Alaska cruise tour is the ideal way to experience as much of Alaska’s awe-inspiring scenery as possible. You’ll see the rugged splendor of the Alaskan coastline, visit the ports and encounter the natural wonders of the interior.

Alaska is a vast state and you only skim the surface of its wonders cruising the inside passage.

By adding an optional land tour either before or after the cruise will make your journey a remarkable one.

Types of tours

There are a number of tour combinations ranging between 10 to 20 days in length. You can visit many different inland areas of Alaska and Canada depending on the specific cruise line. The big Kahuna is Denali National Park, home to Mt. McKinley, the highest mountain in North America. Denali is on the Itinerary of all the land tours except those visiting the Canadian Rockies. You can choose to concentrate your visit in one of the following regions:

Denali National Park Region

Yukon Territory/Denali National Park Region

Canadian Rockies Region

Wrangell Copper River Region

Kenai Peninsula Region

Alaska's Arctic Region

Tour features

Your land tour will offer you many of the same comforts found on your ship. Relaxing accommodations, transportation, experienced guides to provide expert advice and insight into local attractions are all conveniently arranged. You’ll be traveling great distances and may encounter motor coach, rail, riverboat and possibly air along your journey. You’ll also have a wide variety of optional excursions to select from throughout the Alaska cruise tour.

You can take the land portion of your Alaska cruise tour either pre or post cruise. You need to keep in mind this is a structured tour and there is a schedule that needs to be maintained. Depending on the itinerary you may be in a different location each evening. Your days will be full and you’ll look forward to your head hitting the pillow each night. Because of this the pre-cruise option is in more demand. Many passengers prefer the thought of a luxurious cruise ship waiting at the end of their land excursion. If you want to save a few bucks, take the land portion after your cruise. It would be smart to make your reservation sooner rather than later if you prefer the pre-cruise option.

It goes without saying that the longer the tour the more real opportunities you’ll have to explore the destination.

Costs

The cost of your Alaska cruise tour will be based on the length of the tour and the scheduled destinations. It’s an additional fee not covered in the standard cost of your cruise vacation. Typically, prices begin around $1,000 per person and go up based on the length of the itinerary and the destination.

If your budget allows – we recommend an Alaska cruise tour for the most complete Alaska experience.
